Our earliest records show that Tongham FC was established in or around 1905, as there is evidence in the Surrey FA records of a cup final appearance for that season.

Later, the club played in the Surrey Intermediate League during the 60’s and 70’s as well as a few seasons in the Aldershot Senior League, winning the treble of the Aldershot Senior Cup, Aldershot Senior League and League Cup.

In 2003/4, after winning the league title and league cup in the previous season in the Surrey Intermediate Western Division, we were accepted into the Combined Counties League Division 1 and managed a creditable 6th place in our first season as well as scoring 118 goals making us the leading scorers in Division 1.

The following season proved to be somewhat traumatic as our old pavilion and clubhouse were demolished to make way for our new facilities, which meant us having to play the majority of our ‘home’ games at a number of different venues. Along with two changes of management, we just avoided relegation but our finances were crucially ‘overstretched’.

A brief excursion to the Surrey Elite League proved to be just as financially draining and we returned to the Surrey Intermediate League with our fantastic new facilities proving to be one of the best in the league and with the hope and prospect of attracting more players an exciting future looked imminent.

Unfortunately, during season 2015/16, we again lost our first team manager mid-season leading to an exodus of players. We were unable to field a team and were faced with no option than to put the club ‘in mothballs’ and withdraw from the league.

In 2019, Adam Streeter resurrected the playing side of the club and we entered a new era, competing in the Guildford and Woking Alliance Premier League.

The 2020/21 season saw us win this league (despite the obvious pandemic limitations) and we are now (gratefully) back into the Surrey Intermediate League, where we feel that we belong, with Adam and our reserve team manager Warren Vass looking to guide the club toward future glories.
