Zumba is a fun fusion of dance and exercise that makes keeping in shape a pleasure and not a chore. It incorporates both latin and world music and dance styles including meringue, salsa, reggaeton, bollywood, belly dancing and more.

I personally am not a great fan of exercise that feels like exercise! I get bored too easily! How boring are endless squats and lunges?? Imagine, spending an hour dancing to find you have done dozens of squats and lunges without thinking about it?

For me Zumba is a fun way to keep fit, help you lose or maintain weight and have a good time. The best part is that you don’t have to be a dancer and you don’t have to be a fitness freak! In fact, you can be out of shape, have two left feet and no coordination – it doesn’t matter!! There is no right or wrong! The more you put into it, the more you get out of it. If you are having a good day and have lots of energy you can really go for it. If you’ve had a rough day and are feeling lethargic – take it easy, but I guarantee you will leave the class feeling more energised than when you started!!

There is a great social element to a Zumba too!

 We have a lot of fun, and spend a surprising amout of time laughing!! It’s a great way to unwind after a hard day.

I took part in my very first Zumba class in 2010 and haven’t looked back since! I had been unwell for a very long time and was getting back into exercise again and trying to stay healthy. In June 2012 I went to my first training session and got my Zumba license! for more information
